Chat (Beta)
The AI chat panel is available in every project. In a new project, the panel opens automatically with start points such as "Define a space program" and "Create your first building." Tell the assistant what you want in plain language. The assistant can then act directly in your model.
Best practices:
- The AI gives better results when you give it more context. "Give me a space program for an office supporting 350 people" gives a better result than "I'm making an office".
- Attach files to give the assistant more context.
- You can undo all the changes that the assistant makes. Push Ctrl+Z or Cmd+Z, as you do for your own edits.
- Hypar gives a warning when a chat becomes full. Then use Summarize & new to move the context into a new chat.
- Always make sure that the results are correct. The AI can make mistakes, even when your prompt is detailed.
What the AI chat can do

Layout suggestions
Hypar gives suggestions for furnished layouts for your spaces.
- Each suggestion shows the desk, seat, and bed counts, if available, before you accept it.
- Select Expand space to make the space larger for the layout. Or select Fit to space to change the layout to the current dimensions of the space.
- Select Accept suggestion to keep the layout. If you do not want the layout, dismiss the suggestion.
Use suggestions at the blocking stage. Look through the layout suggestions to make sure that a room is large enough for what you need. For example, "can this meeting room really seat 14?" Do this before you commit to the plan.
Names control the suggestions. When you accept a layout, Hypar gives the space the name of that layout. This also operates in the opposite direction. Change the name of a space to "Exam Room" or "Meeting", and related layouts appear.
Suggestions change with the size of the space. Make a meeting room larger, and new, larger layouts appear. Suggestions also learn from you. Rooms that you lay out yourself, or paste in from a library project, become suggestions later. If you change the desk and the chair, Hypar builds new desk suggestions around your choice.
Desk layouts. Give a space the name "Open Office" to get desk suggestions. Then select all the desks with the multi-select tool, or hold Shift and draw a box around them. Set the exact back-to-back spacing and aisle spacing. Type the dimensions, or drag the dotted-line handle.
Where the suggestions come from. Suggestions come from three sources: the built-in layouts in Hypar, your own libraries, and the layouts that are already in your project. A library icon marks the layouts from your own libraries.
